I Should Get What I Deserve, So I’m Taking a 2 Month Vacation

I’ve decided to take two months vacation to travel to Nepal to study meditation in Kathmandu. I’ve decided that not only do I deserve a vacation, but that I deserve to get enlightenment in this life; not interested in waiting until the next. I’m cashing out my IRA and will be leaving next week.

How to Mentally Rehearse for Any Challenge

Do you have a challenge coming up that you feel unsure about? An upcoming test, speech, presentation, performance, game, or interview? Here’s my experience of how I succeeded using a little impromptu mental rehearsal. Every year my brothers, brother in law and I go on our annual Dude’s River Trip.

Revisiting Toads and Deep Relaxation

This post was originally published in June 2009. The recent rain reminded me of it. I’ved added a current special offer at the end. I was thinking about toads as I fell asleep the other night.  Spadefoot toads to be exact. You may be thinking: what do toads have to do with deep relaxation? Well, it started with […]

Choose: What It Is, What It Ain’t

Today’s post is by guest author James Gabriel. James is a fellow participant in a seminar I am taking called “Living Passionately”. Choice Choice begins before dawn’s crack for some and right at for others, and I choose mine to be long after that. There are times when I must wake in the morning darkness and […]

Please Don’t Rip Me Off

You wouldn’t steal from someone, would you? Would you rip someone off by breaking into their house and stealing their stuff? If you’re reading this, probably not.  Consider, however that there is more than one way to “rip someone off”. I heard something recently that made me realize this.

The Rose

Todays post is by Jim Rohn. In “The Rose” Jim talks about creating magic with those around you with your own personal style, which has less to do with money than with imagination and care. The Rose by Jim Rohn Lifestyle is style over amount. And style is an art—the art of living. You can’t […]

What You Know Won’t Help You.

Imagine:  You’re an extraterrestrial explorer speeding though an unknown galaxy. Your spacecraft malfunctions: you’re forced to make an emergency landing on a little blue planet. You survive the landing with a crippled craft. You’re stranded. You call the Galactic AAA. It’ll be awhile before they get there, so you begin to explore. You step out of […]

Feelings versus Commitment: Which Liberates, Which Imprisons?

A woman chewed me out once because I asked her (very nicely) not to park her car behind mine while Pep Boys repaired a tire on it. In a hurry, I didn’t want to be slowed down while they got her to move her car so I could leave. I got so angry, I thought about giving her the […]

Ready to Quit Smoking? Get Rid of Anxiety? You Need to Read This.

So here we are, 2011. Did you make any New Years Resolutions? Almost a silly question to ask; hardly anybody makes them anymore. Did you “resolve” to make some changes last year? How’d that work for you? Are you still struggling with anxiety? Still smoking cigarettes? Did you  move closer to your goals or did your […]

A New Years Message

The Greatest Gifts May we break down boundaries, tear down walls, and build on the foundation of goodness inside each of us. May we look past differences, gain understanding and embrace acceptance. May we reach out to each other, rather than resist. May we be better stewards of the earth, protecting, nurturing, and replenishing the […]
