Can Someone Be Hypnotized Over the Phone?

Have you ever had the experience of falling asleep while being on the phone? Maybe  with someone who has a monotonous voice? If so, then you’ve experienced phone hypnosis!

Hypnosis is a state we all go into on a daily basis. When you’re getting hypnosis for hypnotherapy, you’re awake, aware and you hear everything that’s being said. You don’t have to be in the same room as the hypnotherapist, or even the same state. It is language that creates a state of hypnosis, even over the phone.

Hypnotherapy phone sessions are an effective way to get the benefits of hypnosis over the phone.

In my hypnotherapy phone sessions, I’ll spend some time talking to the client about what they would like to accomplish or change. Then we’ll actually do phone  hypnosis for 15 to 20 minutes. I’ll  record the hypnosis part of the session so that they can listen to it on their own for reinforcement. The results of a few hypnotherapy phone sessions can be just as good as having a hypnotherapy session in person.

The advantage is that you don’t need to jump in your car and go to a hypnotherapist’s office. With hypnotherapy phone sessions, you can get the benefits of hypnosis from the comfort of your own home, where you feel safe and secure. In addition, some people feel more comfortable talking over the phone about their challenges rather than talking face to face. The benefits are deep relaxation and a profound sense of well being. All while putting the awesome power of your subconscious mind to work to create success, happiness and health. And I promise I won’t bore you to sleep in our hypnotherapy phone sessions.

Many of my clients, happy with the results of hypnotherapy, want to refer their family and friends to me. However, sometimes they live too far away to come to my locations in South Pasadena or Covina.  Hypnotherapy phone sessions are the perfect solution.

Are You Off Track and Out of Whack? Call in the Experts.

I looked out my window recently one morning and noticed  that my garage door was open. It was 6 a.m. so I knew it was open all night. We don’t park our car in the garage so we always keep it closed, especially at night.

I pressed the button in my house to close the garage door; it went down a few feet then went back up.  I went outside to take a look.  The wheels were off the tracks and the cables that pull the door up were off the pulleys. I tried to put things back, making a lot of racket in the process but I couldn’t figure out  how things worked. My wife came out in her bathrobe and slippers to see what was up, and we spent about an hour trying to fix it but could not.

I was  frustrated because now I had missed my 7 a.m. BNI meeting. What bothered me more is that I couldn’t figure out why it got screwed up in the first place. I pulled out the phone book, called a garage door repair guy, and within 2 hours my garage door was working perfectly. If I had done that first, I would’ve saved  a lot of time and aggravation.

What I didn’t know is that my garage door uses two big springs to pull the door up by the cables. Sometimes these springs get old and out of balance and one side of he door gets pulled up quicker than the other. That’s how it got out of whack and off the rails. It took the garage door expert a little more than a half hour to replace the springs and re-adjust the door.

When life gets out of balance, when you get off track and  are feeling down and can’t figure out how to pull yourself back up, then it might be time to call on your team of Experts

For example,  this past week I was feeling off track and out of whack  in regards to my hypnotherapy practice. There were some things I just couldn’t figure out on my own. So I called on my team of experts for support.

I started with a meeting with June Davidson, President of American Seminar Leaders and  President of Coaching Firm International. She is also a speaker and an author.  She helped me realize what aspects of my business I should be focusing on, helping me to be more clear about my direction as a coach and hypnotherapist.

I then called on my good friend Craig Valine, the local Independent Business Advisor with Glazer Kennedy Insiders Circle. Craig is a Marketing Performance Strategist who helps entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals learn more effective ways to market their business and grow their income. Craig’s advice has been invaluable in helping me craft my marketing message.

Craig put me in touch with Scott Evans.  Scott is an inventor, educator and entrepreneur. You may have seen the movie “The Sandlot”, which was written and directed by Scott’s brother David and tells a story from their childhood. I’ve seen Scott speak and have attended one of his seminars. Scott sat down with me and helped me to realize that there were areas of my business that I was focusing on that were not in line with my passion, which is helping people move to the next level of success in their businesses and personal lives. To say that Scott shifted my perspective about my business would be putting it mildly. I walked away with more ideas than I’ve had in a long time.

Who is on your team that you can call on for support, direction and guidance? Maybe a valued friend or relative that will  give you the straight scoop. Perhaps you have a minister or priest that you respect that can guide you in your spiritual direction. A psychotherapist or hypnotherapist can be a great help. More and more folks are turning to business and life coaches for accountability and support. Your team might consist of  the collective wisdom of the authors and teachers contained in your book and audio library.

Nobody does it alone. If you feel that you’ve got no one in your corner  in your personal life or business then go out and find an expert and develop a relationship with them. You might think it’s corny but it’s true: TEAM stands for Together Everyone Achieves More.

When would now be a good time to start?

Someone to Believe in You When You Don’t

Instead of  learning to be cool with the girls, I made the incredibly boneheaded move of joining the cross-country team my freshmen year in high school. I ran more miles in high school than most people walk in a lifetime, or at least that’s what it felt like. Upon joining  the team, I was told that the coach was the also the Spanish teacher. Like most  nerdy fifteen year olds, I thought I knew everything, and figured “He’ll  just make us jog for a couple of  miles every day.” Wrong.

This coach introduced me to a level of physical pain that I have not  encountered since. We didn’t  jog a few miles everyday, we trained by running until we didn’t think we could run anymore. And then, we ran some more.

There was a park, not far from my high school: La Loma Park (the name still gives me the shivers). Coach would say, “Let’s jog to the ole La Loma”. We would jog the three miles from our school to the park, then we’d run a practice course the coach laid out. The course started with a wickedly steep grade and  continued half a mile in length through the hilly, undeveloped part of the park.  Coach would say something like, “We are going to run this 3/4 speed (25% less than all-out), and we are going to do it 10 times.” We would look at each other as if to say “Can he be serious??” Running it twice could cure you of running forever. I remember feeling resentful –  “How could he ask that of us?” The next thought would be “Why am I even doing this??”

We would run that miserable  course over and over until our legs felt like Silly Putty.  Just before we were ready to fall to our knees and beg for mercy, the coach would say, “OK, I guess 8 times is enough. Let’s go home”

Looking back, I don’t know how I was able to do what this coach asked. I felt that  he would ask for an effort that was not only unreasonable, but simply undoable. But do it we would; we never considered otherwise. We finished the season  the fourth best cross-country team in Southern California. You see, the coach asked of us what we could not and would not ask of ourselves, and in delivering that, we moved beyond what we thought was possible.

I walked away from that experience with a confidence in my physical capabilities that has never left me, and that has allowed me to hike to places that left me in awe and wonder. (Havasu Falls comes to mind).

Consider that all peak performers in any field of endeavor have a coach that provides direction, accountability, support and motivation. Why not you?

I’ll soon be introducing  Success for Life Coaching, my new personal development program to help you take your goals, dreams and desires to the next level. As your success coach, I’ll be your partner in helping you

  • Discover what’s important in your life; your values and dreams
  • Identify your strengths, skills and resources for success
  • Create goals that are in line with your values and dreams
  • Design a plan for achieving those goals
  • Eliminate obstacles or blocks that stand in your way
  • Celebrate and enjoy your success

Success for Life Coaching is not hypnotherapy, consulting or focused on psychological issues. It can be done in person, or over the phone, and at a pace you feel comfortable with. This may be  every week, bi-weekly or even monthly.

Readers of  this blog will be able to get in at a special introductory level until December 15th. If you are interested, call or email  for a free half hour Introductory Session. Fortunately, you don’t need to experience pain or exhaustion to  benefit from coaching. You just need to be a winner who wants more out of life.

I didn’t really enjoy cross-country that much ( I switched to the track team the remaining three years: shorter distance, more glory). I constantly thought about quitting. I didn’t for one reason only: the coach, who believed we could go the distance  when we didn’t.
