Can I be hypnotized? Yes. Everyone has the ability to be hypnotized.
What does it feel like to be hypnotized? The experience is pleasant, calm, relaxing and comfortable. You are not asleep, but in a conscious, “sleeplike” state and completely aware of your surroundings. You will hear everything that is said and will leave the session refreshed and feeling great! Can I be made to do or say things I don’t want to? While movies and television have portrayed hypnosis as being completely under someone else’s control, nothing could be further from the truth. You cannot and will not ever be compelled to do or say anything that is in conflict with your personal, ethical standards and/or desires. How many sessions will it take? Because each person is unique, there is no “one size fits all” answer to that question. You may find significant progress in a few sessions, or you may need more. The best way to find out is to get started! What is therapeutic imagery? When you remember a favorite vacation, images and associated feelings will come to you. You may see the place, feel the temperature, smell the scents, or taste the foods you ate. Those representations are your images. The essence of guided imagery for therapeutic purposes is to consciously focus your imagination on a goal, with the intention of achieving that goal. Since what occupies our thoughts tends to become our reality, goal-oriented imagery is a way of focusing your mind to get what you want out of life, be it health, happiness or prosperity.
